The House
The story of the building told at walking pace — history, materials and landscape given room to breathe before a single room is ever mentioned.
Selected Work
A refined digital experience for a fictional Cotswolds country house hotel, designed around quiet luxury, editorial storytelling and a seamless guest journey.

Project overview
The concept
Ashford House was never meant to read as a brochure. The website is designed to communicate the feeling of staying at an intimate country house — the weight of the rooms, the pace of the days — rather than simply presenting hotel information.
The experience is built on editorial storytelling and atmosphere: premium photography held full-bleed, restrained typography, generous whitespace and navigation so intuitive it is barely noticed. Every page holds a single idea, and nothing raises its voice.

The experience
The site is arranged as a walk through the property — each area a short editorial spread, each leading quietly to the next.

01
The story of the building told at walking pace — history, materials and landscape given room to breathe before a single room is ever mentioned.

02
Eleven rooms presented as an editorial index rather than a booking grid — each one introduced by name, character and position in the house.

03
A single table, set twice a day. The dining page sells the ritual of the evening rather than a menu PDF.

04
Days, gently arranged — walks, the walled garden and the cellar, written like entries in a house diary.

05
Deep in the valley, easily reached. Arrival by car, rail and air set out as quietly as the approach road itself.

06
Every stay begins with a letter. The enquiry is written into the tone of the site, not appended to it.
Rooms & Suites
The room experience was designed to make each accommodation feel individual and desirable — named rooms, honest detail and clear pricing — while keeping the journey to an enquiry as simple as a single quiet action.

Room pages open with a single photograph and a short written portrait, followed by the details a guest actually needs — rate, size, bed, view — set as typographic rules. The enquiry action sits beside them, never in the way. The same composition folds cleanly onto the smallest screen.
Dining & Experiences
Dinner at a single candlelit table; days arranged around the valley, the garden and the cellar. These sections extend the story beyond accommodation and sell the overall Ashford House experience — the reasons to come, not just the place to sleep.

Enquiry experience
The enquiry journey was designed to feel like part of the luxury experience rather than a generic contact form — a clear information hierarchy with room selection, arrival and departure dates and guest details, validated inline and closing on a refined success state. It remains composed on every screen size.

Responsive design
The experience was designed to remain premium across desktop, tablet and mobile — the same typography, pacing and imagery, recomposed rather than reduced.

Final result
The result is a complete luxury hospitality website that combines editorial storytelling with a clear, intuitive guest journey.
