Maison Noir
Luxury barber & grooming studio
Concept project
Overview
A concept project for a Parisian grooming house whose rooms are quiet, dark and precisely detailed. The brief we set ourselves was simple: the website should feel like walking through the door.
Project scope
- Scope
- Brand concept, service menu, barber selection, booking flow, enquiry
- Primary goal
- Make booking feel premium and effortless
- Status
- Concept project
Approach
We began from the material palette of the room itself — blackened oak, brass, worn leather — and translated it into a near-black interface where light falls only where it is needed.
Typography carries the atmosphere. Large serif headings hold the page, while a quiet uppercase sans marks time, price and place without ever raising its voice.

Art direction
- Palette
- Near-black, brass, bone
- Type
- High-contrast serif, quiet sans
- Imagery
- Low key, single source light
- Motion
- Slow fades only
Selected interface
Service, barber, time — the booking sequence held on a single quiet screen.

Presentation
The booking flow was designed as a short, unhurried sequence — service, barber, time — each step given a full screen rather than a crowded form.
Service pricing sits in a printed-index layout: ruled lines, generous leading, no cards, no badges. The site reads as a document rather than an interface.
Outcome
As a concept, the project demonstrates how a booking-led business can keep its atmosphere intact online — the reservation never interrupts the tone, and every page holds a single idea.
